Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, or simply the Enchanted Tiki Room and formerly Tropical Serenade in some parks is an animatronic show attraction at Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
Description[]
Summary[]
The Enchanted Tiki Room is a sit-down attraction in Adventureland. In the original Disneyland attraction, the experience begins outside of the building in an enchanted garden. The garden being filled with idols representing deities from Polynesian mythology, each of which comes to life as guests wait.
In Walt Disney World, the pre-show exists within a more sheltered area with a fountain and idol of the (fictional) tiki-god of health Citrikua. Two birds named Clyde and Claude sit upon the god's helm who chat about first coming to the Tiki Room's sunshine pavilion.
The show itself occurs when guess enter the titular Tiki Room and a group of tropical birds are awakened by the cast-members. The birds go on to put on a show for guests, singing with many other birds joining in. Over the course of the show, singing flowers and tiki statues join in the celebration until it angers the Polynesian gods causing it to storm. Following this, the birds close up the attraction as guests leave.
Haunted Mansion Connections[]
Many of the same people who worked on the Enchanted Tiki Room worked on the Haunted Mansion. Inevitably, there are parallels and connections, both with aesthetics and in-universe story connections.
Design[]

Stretching Room Beams vs Poster Tiki, from Long Forgotten Haunted Mansion
Pieces of concept art from the Haunted Mansion and the Museum of the Weird parallels designs that can be found in the Enchanted Tiki Room.
- Beams carved into the stretching room resemble the chanting totem poles
- A pot of a carnivorous plant from the Museum of the Weird resembles Tangaroa.
- The Museum of the Weird would have featured a carnivorous plant that was alive. The Enchanted Tiki Room features talking plants.
The lightning after the “Hawaiian War Chant” resembles what can be found in the Haunted Mansion, in the stretching room and the portrait gallery.
Mystic Manor[]

Drumming Tiki at the Enchanted Tiki Room and Mystic Manor, left picture from Oh My Disney, right picture from Youtube
Mystic Manor features its own enchanted tiki room in the form of the Tribal Arts chamber. The Imagineers intended on presenting a darker, more twisted version of the original attraction during this scene.
The totem poles speak and sing with the music and one of the tikis in the room plays a drum, not unlike the ones from the Tiki Room. In this scene, some tikis attack the guests and protagonist Albert with blow-darts.
