The vampires as they appear in the film
Origins[]
The vampires come from the film the Nightmare Before Christmas and are modelled after extras from the poem of the same name. They are residents of Halloween Town who assist in the seasonal creation of Halloween and within the film, in assisting Jack Skellington create Christmas. Notably the four create the zombie toy-duck.
Appearances[]
Haunted Mansion Holiday[]
The vampires appear in the Scary Christmas display within the Load Area of the attraction. Later on in the attraction, three of their likenesses can be found on one of Madame Leota's tarot cards in the Séance Circle. They represent the Six Mystic Mirrors line of Leota's 13 Days of Christmas recitation. On the card, the vampires are shown with six bat-shaped mirrors while not casting reflections in any of them, due to their being vampires. When the exterior queue's music featured holiday "scarols" in 2002, one sung by the Vampires was recorded, but not used, being a We Three Kings parody called "We Three Dracs".
Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare[]
In Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare, the vampires make an additional appearance in portrait form. The portrait is located in the Sinister 11 corridor and shows them all standing in daylight with their parasols to keep off sunlight. Their portrait takes up the space usually used for Jack the Ripper's painting.
Trivia[]
- The vampires are explicitly stated in the film to drain blood; this might set them apart from other Residents of Halloween Town who don't necessarily show the behaviours of the monsters they represent.
