Thirteen (13) is an unlucky number in superstition which is a recurring motif in the Haunted Mansion franchise.
History[]
In real-world superstition, thirteen is considered to be an unlucky number and is often avoided in constructing floors. The exact reason is unknown, though theories include: it being seen as a perversion of the, "Perfect number" 12, there having been 13 famous attendants of the Last Supper in Christian mythology, or it stemming from anti-semitism as 13 is a valued number in many Jewish religious practices.
