The Samurai Armour are 2 suits of armour found within Mystic Manor in Hong Kong Disneyland.
Description[]
Origins[]
The Samurai were an order of military nobility which were prevalent in Japan from the medieval ages up until early modern history. They were best known for following a code of lifestyle known as the BushidÅ (Way of the Warriors) and for their apparent heightened pain tolerance. They are also most famous for their iconic armour and weaponry.
Samurais became especially popular thanks to them being the subject of many influential films starting during the silent era of cinema.
Background[]
These suits of armour came into the ownership of Lord Henry Mystic at some point circa the 1910s and presumably originated from feudal Japan. He placed them in his Arms and Armour collection within his private estate of Mystic Manor in Mystic Point, Papua New Guinea.
Appearances[]
Mystic Manor[]
The armour is most notably featured within the Arms and Armour chamber where they are seen to have violently taken over the chamber.
Of the two suits of armour, one of them triumphantly holds the helmets of several other suits of armour which it has seemingly defeated in combat. The other which is more slender, attempts to use its katana to decapitate Albert the monkey as he hides in a cannon.
When Albert finally shut the music box within the Chinese Salon, the music boxes presumably lost their life-force.
Trivia[]
- A suit of samurai armour briefly appeared in the 2003 film adaptation of the Haunted Mansion in Gracey Manor's Library. Based on deleted shots incorporated into the DVD set tour, it was to have joined the other Haunted Armours in trying to stop Jim from interrupting the wedding.
