Papua New Guinea or the Independent State of Papua New Guinea is a sovereign state in Oceania located between the Coral Sea and the Philippine Sea, west of the Pacific Ocean. Papua New Guinea occupies eastern half of the island of New Guinea in addition to the offshore islands of Melanesia.

Papua New Guinea serves as the setting for this themed, "land" in Hong Kong Disneyland. In lore, the colony of Mystic Point was established by Lord Henry Mystic after he saved a monkey from a giant spider's web there which he later took as a pet. He would come to build his home of Mystic Manor here by 1896.
