Papa de Janiero was a wealthy Creole widower that was one of seven men that regularly attended Daisy de la Cruz's shows at a carnival that had set up permanent residency in the bayou, with Daisy regularly performing a tightrope act over a pond of alligators. Having lost his wife Meredith five years prior and with his kids having long since grown up, he had hoped to propose marriage to Daisy to start a new family and find comfort in his later years. Daisy rejected this proposal while forcing her own on him and transformed him into the newest member of her family of alligators. The transformed Papa de Janiero would learn from the other alligators that they were all hopeful suitors that Daisy had transformed and the best thing they could do now is wait for her to slip into the pond so she could be devoured in revenge.
