The Mystic Manor theme song is the unnamed musical score used for the Hong Kong Disneyland attraction Mystic Manor.
Background[]
The arrangement was composed and written for by composer Danny Elfman who Disney pursued as he was well-known for making stylized and macabre melodies in the past for projects like the Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Batman and Batman Returns. Elfman himself claims to have been excited due to the Haunted Mansion having been a large part of his childhood growing up in California. Another part of the intent was for the theme to change itself from scene-to-scene along with the theming of each room, using diferent musical arrangements for scenes like the Tiki Room, Chinese Salon, and Egyptian Antiquities Chamber.
Lyrics[]
Lyrics for the song are only prevalent in two scenes and purely orchestral throughout the rest of it. The first scene with lyrics added to the song is in the Armory where it is sung by three medieval helmets who switch between singing it in English and Chinese. The English lyrics for this scene being:
Magic's in the air today. Stand beside me, don't look away. Try to find some words to sing! Who do you think will find him? Somebody's got to pay! No getting away from an ancient curse, and hiding will only make it worse!
The other scene to feature lyrics is the Tribal Arts chamber where living tiki-totems sing the song to a more tribal tune.
Do not try to hide away. Magic's in the air today. Try to find some words to sing. Who do you think will find him? Somebody's got to pay!
