Madame Pigota

Miss Piggy as Madame Pigota

Miss Piggy is one of the lead characters in the Muppet franchise. She plays a supporting role in Muppets Haunted

Mansion

Description[]

Miss Piggy originated as a bit player named "Piggy Lee" in a 1974 Tonight Show sketch and later appeared in 1975's The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence pilot where she stole the show in the "Return to Beneath the Planet of the Pigs" sketch. As a utility player, she was passed between multiple performers including Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt and Frank Oz before Oz took over the character fulltime. Rising through the ranks of the Muppet supporting cast, Miss Piggy became a diva eager to claim fame and fortune, relishing in being a star and passionately pursuing a romantic relationship with Kermit the Frog.

Appearances[]

Muppets Haunted Mansion[]

Miss Piggy appears as both herself and as "Madame Pigota" in the special. She does not actually visit the Mansion, spending Halloween night at the Muppets Halloween party doing a couples costume with Kermit the Frog where they have dressed as each other. Within the Great MacGuffin's Mansion, the spirits respond to Gonzo and Rizzo's sympathetic vibrations and materialize as Muppets, with Madame Leota taking on Piggy's face and attitude. When Gonzo asks to contact a spirit, Pigota claims reception is terrible and begins complaining about her limited screentime before revealing a way out of the Seance Circle.
