Lock, Shock and Barrel are three minor antagonists from the 1993 film, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. They appear in the Haunted Mansion during the annual Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay.
History[]
Lock, Shock and Barrel are monstrous children in Halloween-Town where they live outside the town borders in a derelicte tree-house in the center of a dried up lake. They are "Boogie's Boys" working for the Boogieman Oogie Boogie who lives in the depths under the tree-house and help him out by kidnapping victims for the sadist in-return for not being on the list themselves and treats.
When Jack Skellington tries to take over Christmas, he hires the three to kidnap Santa Claus and keep him somewhere safe but instead they decide to give him to Oogie Boogie to torture and murder. Jack ultimately saves Santa however and at the end of the film the three are seen, still being troublesome but not malicious in the wake of Boogie's apparent demise.
Appearances[]
Haunted Mansion Holiday[]
Pre-2003[]
Up until 2003 which held the addition of Oogie Boogie into the ride, the three appeared as cut-outs in the mausoleum sequence where they replaced the Hitchhiking Ghosts.
Post-2003[]
Following Oogie Boogie's implementation into the ride, the three of them were relegated to popping up from beneath the mirrors in the Hitchhiking Ghost sequence. Here they seem to be blowing spit-balls at guests as they recieve their presents in the mirror. In 2022, the gingerbread house was a guillotine over a fireplace with Lock, Shock and Barrel atop it.
The Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare[]

In the Tokyo Disneyland take of Haunted Mansion Holiday, the trick-or-treaters play a much more prominent role. Their first notable appearance is in the Séance Chamber where they are seen pearing into Madame Leota's séance from the window behind her.
Unlike Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland has the three still serve as the seasonal replacements to the Hitchhiking Ghosts rather than Oogie Boogie. Here they get simple animatronics which hide in present boxes and then in the mirror sequence they can be seen sitting next to the guests Hitchhiking Ghost-style rather than popping out from below.
