James Collins is a character affiliated with Phantom Manor.

Description[]

James Collins was a resident of Thunder Mesa and an employee of the Mysterious Chronicle newspaper which primarily featured paranormal stories.  Collins himself is notable for his ownership of an arcane, "Spectral Camera", a Daguerreotype which was capable of photographing spirits.

In 1885, Collins went to the haunted Ravenswood Manor during the time it was shut down for investigation.  Collins went to investigate whether or not spirits had been escaping the estate and its adjacent burial-grounds of Boot Hill since their closure to the public due to civilian reports of encountering dead indivisuals such as Dakota Dick and Mary Murphy.

Collins himself mysteriously vanished however with his fate remaining unknown and during his absence, the outpost he set up seemed to run itself. When certain guests travelling through the town took pictures with this photograph, they would find it print copies of the newspaper with them in-front of the Manor with the infamous Phantom.

Appearances[]

The second-floor of the Thunder Mesa Mercantile Building has James' office, with a Daguerreotype sign and mural advertising his services.[1]

Spirit Photography[]

During the 2018-2019 renovations of Phantom Manor, the Mysterious Chronicles newspaper was handed out to connect to a Spirit Photography station which put guests alongside the Phantom on the front page of the paper.  James Collins was involved in the backstory of both of these as previously stated.
