History[]
The gag behind the ghosts was originally conceived by Marc Davis, mainly playing on the idea of spirits using a hearse for transportation to a ghost party. This original gag would have included a ghost butler appearing to announce the ghosts as they entered. The hearse would have also been lead by a ghost hearse driver and the horses would have banners reading RIP (Rest In Peace).
The caned and parasol woman were shown in original concept art of the gag.

The Haunted Mansion[]
