Goliath is an undead dog character appearing in Phantom Manor.

Description[]

Background[]

Goliath is the animated corpse of a dog which inhabits the grounds of Ravenswood Manor. It seems to have some affiliation with the Phantom of the estate, potentially having been his pet in life.

Unused[]

In the extended and unused version of the background story for Phantom Manor, the Goliath was the pet of the now deleted character Arthur Ravenswood and when Arthur grew horribly sick the dog never left his master's side. Originally Goliath would have received a tombstone in Boothill which would have said, "Goliath, Faithful dog and Protector, 1859-1867".

Appearances[]

Goliath appears once in the attraction, in the form of a demonic hound accompanying the Phantom who snarls at guests as they pass down into the Underworld through a grave the Phantom dug.

Trivia[]

  • Although originally intended to have been the pet of Arthur Ravenswood, since Arthur was never implemented into the attraction or it's final story it is likely that he is now intended to have been the pet of of Arthur's older brother Henry Ravenswood.
  • He is Phantom Manor's counterpart to the Caretaker's dog and likely the Hellhound as they both share a very similar appearance.
  • Goliath's name comes from the biblical giant named Goliath who was slain by a hero named David.
