The Ghost Fish are undead creatures which haunt an aquarium in the Haunted Mansion Parlor.

Description[]

ParlorAquarium

The ghost fish appear as skeletal fish of various sizes and species - including seahorses - that float in a macabre and arcane fish tank, the centerpiece of the parlor. They manifest alongside the other spirits of the room as the night progresses.

Within the aquarium are tiny tombstones with humorous epitaphs for the ghost fish:

  • Dearest Gilly - Beloved Friend; Swam Upstream to a Grizzly End
  • Bubbles - Life Was A Rush; Laid to Rest With a Flush
  • Here Lies Ol' Bobby - Served with Wasabi
  • Kai - He Has Gone To a Betta Place

The Pet Cemetery fish

In the Pet Cemetery of New Orleans Square's Haunted Mansion, there is a memorial for a fish which died the October 10th of 1867. It is depicted with a traditional fish-skeleton that seems reminiscent of the Ghost Fish.[1]

Seekers of the Weird[]

The tank of ghost-fish cameos in this comic book series. They later appear as giant creatures when the protagonists get locked inside of a ghost fish aquarium during feeding time.

Muppets Haunted Mansion[]

Aboard the Disney Treasure, the aquarium and its fish play a major role in the story of the Captain's death, where his mermaid bride disposed of the body by feeding it to the fish inside, his hat being all that remained.
