Description[]
Lands[]
Disneyland is divided up into nine themed, "Lands". Each of these nine lands are found around Sleeping Beauty's Castle which serves as the central hub of the park. These lands include:
- Main Street U.S.A.: Themed around an idyllic recreation of Walt Disney's home-town of Marceline, Missouri from the 1910s. This is the first land entered within the park.
- Fantasyland: Themed around fairy-tales and folklore in a setting anachronistic to geography and era.
- Tomorrowland: A land themed around an optimistic and science-fiction future for humanity, originally set in the distant future year of 1986.
- Frontierland: Themed around the romanticized Wild West and colonial American Frontiers of the 19th century.
- Adventureland: Adventureland is themed around an anachronistic jungle setting which includes the Polynesian, South America, Africa and Asia. It is largely connected by theming of the colonial exploration from the late-19th/early-20th century.
- New Orleans Square: Themed around the city of New Orleans, Louisiana from the late-19th/early-20th century. This is the land which contains the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean.
- Mickey's Toon Town: Mickey's Toon Town is an area inspired by the Mickey Mouse & Friends franchise in-addition to the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). It is themed around logic-defying classic comedy cartoons such as those of Disney, Max Fleischer, or the Looney Toons while serving as the apparent home of Mickey Mouse and company.
- Critter Country: Critter Country is themed around being a pine-filled home for anthropomorphic animals from the 19th/early 20th century.
- Star Wars Galaxy's Edge: This land is themed around the Star Wars franchise, being set in the fictional Black Spire Outpost on the alien planet of Batuu in the outer rim of Star Wars' galaxy.
