Death Certificates are objects affiliated with the Haunted Mansion which used to be handed out at the end of the attraction.

Description[]

The Death Certificates are directly referenced once in the ride by the Ghostess who tells guests to bring them when they return, implying that she wishes for the guests to die and return to the Mansion post-mortem. Death certificates being documents stating the date, location, time and cause of death of a given individual.

Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail[]

An advertisement in the town of Disney Springs for, "Mme. Leota's Music Lessons from Regions Beyond" asks clients to bring their death certificates.

Memorabilia[]

For a time, the cast-members operating the Exit Crypt would hand out Death Certificates to guests who asked for them at the end of the attraction. Since then the items have been featured in numerous collectables and pins, along with often being handed out at live-events pertaining to the franchise.

Death Certificates are also often found on pins themed around the Haunted Mansion, typically being signed by individuals like, H.B. Ghost, M.T. Tomb, or Master Gracey. Haunted Mansion Holiday pins sometimes are framed as death certificates for Nightmare before Christmas (1993) characters.

The Haunted Mansion (Video Game)[]

In the video game The Haunted Mansion Death Certificates appear as collectable items. Each certificate has been torn into three fragments. Once Zeke Holloway has collected all the pieces, he can show the certificate to the proper friendly ghost to earn a reward.
