Cat and Birds Pet Cemetery

The dead cat is a creature found in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion.

Description[]

Background[]

This animal was a domestic cat which during its lifetime killed five pet birds. It would later die and be buried alongside these birds in the pet cemetery of the Haunted Mansion of New Orleans.  It is unknown if those who buried it there were residents of the estate, lived in the area of the estate, or moved them post-mortem.

History[]

The tomb was presumably originally built for the Haunted Mansion's adjacent Pet Cemetery space but would later be moved to the front of the manor.

Appearances[]

The Haunted Mansion[]

The dead cat's tomb can be found alongside the tombs of the five birds in the Pet Cemetery of the Haunted Mansion without any epitaph.

SLG Comics[]

The dead cat appears in While the Fifi is Away, wearing a small suit that he was buried in. Frustrated with Fifi's drama over being forgotten by the Bride and stuck outside, he points out that the birds he killed don't complain about their afterlife, resulting in him getting pecked. As their conversation goes on, the cat realizes that he hasn't used the last of his nine lives in his pocket, which Fifi snatches to try and use for a second chance at life and an opportunity to go to the Attic. Just as she's about to set off, the Bride throws her ring out the window, which lodges itself into Fifi's skull, killing her again.

The cat's list of deaths include a "horse and buggy incident", drowning in a pool, a fire, malaria, a high-wire act, two incidents with bad clams, and choking on a large bird.
