"He died in the fall
It's a fact notwithstanding
But the judges admired
His form on the landing"
—Campbell's tombstone
Near the entrance of the Mansion in Liberty Square is a tombstone for a man named Campbell.
Description[]
Background[]
Campbell is a man who had some affiliation with Gracey Manor, having possibly been a member of the estate's family. He was an athlete who died as the result of a poor fall during a competitive sport (likely diving) but even the fall which killed him was admired by the judges.
History[]
The tombstone is a tribute to Imagineer Collin Campbell, who illustrated the book that accompanied the Story and Song from the Haunted Mansion album. Incidentally, Collin Campbell passed away a few days after his tribute tombstone debuted outside of Walt Disney World's Mansion in 2011.
