Lore Connections

The, "black widow bride" Constance Hatchaway is listed as documents in the Mansion's attic as having been born in Money County, California. Similarly, her first husband Ambrose Harper is listed as coming from Secret County, California, 2nd husband Frank Banks as coming from Bulfor's Isle in California, and her final known husband George Hightower as coming from Newport Beach in California.

In Walt Disney World's incarnation of the Haunted Mansion, the hitchhiking ghost known as Ezra has a luggage-sticker on his travel-case that says, "Anaheim" with a large number 13. This is an allusion to Disneyland's original Haunted Mansion with the number 13 both being a paranormal motif and a reference to Disneyland's address being 1313 Disneyland Drive (1313 being MM in letter-to-number ciphers, standing for the initials of Mickey Mouse).

Disney Parks

  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror was set in the fictional Hollywood Tower Hotel in Hollywood, California. The Tower of Terror's setting of Hollywood Boulevard/Disney's Hollywood Studios (Walt Disney World) and defunct Paradise Pier as-well as Disney's California Adventure were similarly themed to the state.
  • The scrapped Discovery Bay park planned for Disneyland would have been set in California and have been connected to the story of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
  • Grizzly Gulch in Hong Kong Disneyland and its main attraction of Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars is set in the deserts of California. This being a reimagining of Frontierland and Big Thunder Mountain.
