The Caged Bugs are creatures from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) which appear in Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare in Tokyo Disneyland.
Origins[]
In the film The Nightmare Before Christmas, one caged bug of which those in the attraction are modelled after made an appearance. During the song Kidnap the Sandy Claws, Lock, Shock and Barrel used a lollipop to lure and cage a cockroach-like bug with spider-like legs. Lock proceeded to put the caging into a boiling cauldron of unknown fluids which resulted in the roach being turned green and boiled into a skeletal figure. The three proceeded to ritualistically drop the caged bug down into the lair of Oogie Boogie as an offering where the Boogieman proceeded to eat the bug and spit out the cage.

Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare[]
A large number of the bugs resembling those from the film (following getting boiled) appear in the spider-web scene of the attraction. Here, their cages all dangle from the ceiling with tags saying, "To Oogie" revealing them as gifts as Oogie's shadow appears on the moon in the background, laughing. The large spiders also appear throughout this scene, further terrifying the bugs as they shake in their cages.
