Bisclavret

Bisclavret trapped on the Mansion's grounds

Bisclavret, nicknamed "Biscuit", is Gracey Manor's resident werewolf, or Loup Garou, in the Slave Labor Graphics comics. He is the protagonist of "Blue Loup Garou" and the comics's equivalent to the Howling Dog.

Background[]

Bisclavret was one of many Loup Garou in the service of a cigar-smoking demon named Basil. Basil would tempt the people of Bien Chasse into offering their souls to him in exchange for a life of leisure, with his band of werewolves doing manual labor and other tasks for whatever foolish mortal accepted the offer. One night while working on the farm of a man named Benedict, Bisclavret was tasked with making a stew for the man's dinner. With Basil stepping away from the farmhouse to seal Benedict's fate, Bisclavret decided to make a run for it and ended up hiding on the grounds of nearby Gracey Manor. When morning came however, Bisclavret found that he was not only stuck in his wolf form, he was stuck within the boundaries of the Gracey estate. A nearby cigar stub would make him realize that Basil expected him to run off and he deliberately trapped Bisclavret there.

When telling his tale to his friend, the Mummy, who was curious as to why he was constantly howling at night, the Mummy believed that he misses the outside world. Bisclavret clarified while that Mansion life isn't so bad, he does hate that the fishing around the Graveyard's swamps is lousy since even the fish are all ghosts, leaving him constantly hungry and howling.

Trivia[]

  • Bisclavret takes his name from a twelfth century French werewolf story of the same name.
